By Train from London
The quickest and most convenient way to travel from London to Bath is by direct train from London Paddington to Bath Spa. The fastest services take approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes. Great Western Railway operates regular direct trains throughout the day, with departures typically every 30 minutes during busy periods.
Bath Spa railway station is located in the heart of the city, making it an ideal option if you’re travelling without a car. Both Westgate Apartments and Trim Street are around a 10-minute walk from the station.
Tips for the Train Journey
- Book tickets in advance to secure the best fares. Advance tickets are often significantly cheaper than buying on the day.
- Railcards, including the 16–25 Railcard, Senior Railcard, Two Together Railcard and Network Railcard, can reduce most fares by one third.
- Most services travel via Reading and, on some routes, Chippenham. Check your chosen service if you want to know the exact stopping pattern.

By Coach from London
National Express and other coach operators run regular services from London Victoria Coach Station to Bath Bus Station. By Car from London
Bath is approximately 115 miles from central London via the M4. Journey times can vary considerably depending on traffic, particularly around the M25 and Bristol. Bath operates a Clean Air Zone within the city centre, so it’s worth checking whether your vehicle is subject to charges before travelling. Several park and ride sites are available on the outskirts of the city.
For most visitors, travelling by train is the simplest option. It’s usually quicker than driving, avoids parking charges and brings you directly into the centre of Bath.
From Bath Spa Station to Hiding Space
Both Hiding Space properties are approximately a 10-minute walk from Bath Spa railway station. Westgate Apartments is located on Westgate Buildings, while Trim Street is a short walk through Bath’s historic centre. Taxis are readily available outside the station if you have luggage, although the walk is straightforward and takes you through some of the city’s most attractive streets.
